Hair Transplantation / Hair Fall Treatment

what is Hair Transplantation / Hair Fall Treatment?

Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure used to treat hair loss. It involves removing hair follicles from one part of the body (usually the back or sides of the scalp, where hair is thicker) and transplanting them to the bald or thinning areas. This procedure is typically used to treat male pattern baldness but can also be used to restore hair in women and in other cases of hair loss.

Methods of hair transplantation:

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT): Also known as strip harvesting, this method involves removing a strip of skin from the donor area and then dissecting it into individual follicular units for transplantation.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE): This method involves removing individual follicular units directly from the donor area using a small punch tool and then transplanting them to the recipient area.

Both FUT and FUE are effective hair transplantation techniques, but they differ in how the donor hair is harvested. The choice of method depends on various factors, including the extent of hair loss, the quality of the donor hair, and the patient’s preferences.

Hair fall treatment, on the other hand, includes non-surgical methods aimed at preventing or slowing down hair loss and promoting hair growth. These treatments may include medications, such as minoxidil or finasteride, which are FDA-approved for the treatment of hair loss, as well as topical treatments, laser therapy, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy.

It’s essential to consult with a dermatologist or a hair transplant surgeon to determine the underlying cause of hair loss and to develop a personalized treatment plan that suits your needs.

The skin moulds itself to the new shapes of the treated areas. If you have good skin tone and
elasticity, the skin usually looks smooth. If your skin is thin and not elastic, the skin in the
treated areas may look loose.
